Fire Weather Planning Forecast for South Central Texas

.DISCUSSION...
Continued hot and dry weather for most of the area through middle
of next week. The high temperatures will allow the relative
humidity to drop below 30% across various parts of the northern
and western sections of the forecast area each afternoon through
the forecast period. Medium-range models are developing a rain
producing system in the Gulf and moving it into Texas. Weather
prediction models (GFS and ECMWF) still do not agree well on what
this system will do once it gets to Texas. One has a significant
rain event and the other only modest rain scenario. They are
slowly coming into better agreement every new run, but are still
far apart. We have sided with the lower (GFS) rain chances for
now.
