The surprising advice Jennifer Aniston gave Reese Witherspoon on the set of 'Friends'

No Comments Entertainment News

Apple TV Plus(NEW YORK) — Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon showed off their journalism skills at the anchor desk on Good Morning America Monday ahead of their new Apple TV Plus series, The Morning Show.

The pair, who first co-starred in Friends as sisters Rachel and Jill Green nearly 20 years ago, said they’ve been waiting for the right project to reunite ever since.

Witherspoon recalled the call to appear on the hit sitcom just after she had her daughter, Ava. “I just had a baby so I was watching Friends all the time,” Witherspoon recalled. “Then one day my publicist said, ‘Do you want to be Jen Aniston’s sister?’ And I said ‘Yes!'”

Reese continued, “I got there and Jen was so sweet. I was so nervous. She was like, ‘Don’t worry, they like when you mess up.'”

“But she didn’t,” Aniston chimed in.

Now, the two women are executive producers and stars of the new Apple TV plus drama series that explores the cutthroat world of morning news, as they work to navigate the minefield of high-octane jobs while facing crises in both their personal and professional lives.

Aniston, who spent time on the set of Good Morning America to better understand the world of morning television, said she was most surprised by “the insanity that takes place from 5 in the morning until 7.”

Although both Aniston and Witherspoon fit the morning news desk like naturals, neither ever considered being TV anchors.

“I wanted to be a country music singer. It didn’t work out, but I’m OK,” Witherspoon said with a laugh. She did have a nice consolation prize: winning an Oscar for playing country star June Carter Cash in 2005’s Walk the Line

The Morning Show debuts on Apple TV + on Nov. 1.

"It's a [CENSORED] massive relief!" Ewan McGregor kept Obi-Wan Kenobi show a secret for years

No Comments Entertainment News

Disney XD(LOS ANGELES) — (NOTE LANGUAGE) For actor Ewan McGregor, the revelation this past summer that he’d be reprising his role as Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi in a Disney+ series came as no surprise. He’d already been keeping the secret for years.

So when the news was finally revealed McGregor was able to exhale, he tells Men’s Journal. “It’s a f****** massive relief. Because for four years, I’ve been having to lie to people about it,” he declared.

“The storyline sits between Episode III and Episode IV,” McGregor confirmed to the magazine, adding, “The Jedi Order was falling apart.”

Once meant to be a big screen project, the as-yet untitled Kenobi series will feature a half dozen hour-long episodes.

You may remember that Obi-Wan and Yoda went into hiding after Emperor Palpatine ordered his clone army exterminate the Jedi in Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith. Anakin Skywalker’s/Darth Vader’s twin babies Luke and Leia were separated to protect them: Leia was adopted by the royal family of Alderaan, and Luke was delivered to his aunt and uncle on Tatooine, where Kenobi watched over him from afar.

McGregor says, “…[H]is arc will be quite interesting…dealing with that the fact that all the Jedi were slaughtered with the end of Episode III. It’s quite something to get over.”

He adds, “I want to get closer and closer to how Obi-Wan felt while Alec Guinness was playing him. I feel like I’m grayer and nearer him in age, so it’ll be easier to do that.”

The Kenobi series as yet has no release date.  Launching November 12, Disney+ will first premiere The Mandalorian, starring Pedro Pascal as the titular bounty hunter; 2021 will debut a show centering on one of Rogue One‘s doomed heroes, Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor.

Tyrese Gibson says only the "original family" will be back for 'Fast and Furious 9'

No Comments Entertainment News

Marion Curtis/StarPix(NEW YORK) — While promoting his new cop drama Black and Blue, Tyrese Gibson opened up about another highly anticipated film: his action thriller Fast & Furious 9.

Gibson tells ABC Audio that he finished filming the latest installment in the franchise last week.  When asked who’ll be part of the story this time around, he says you can expect the core characters to return.

“Yeah, the family is there,” he revealed when asked who’s in the cast. “The original family. Yes.”

To Fast and Furious fans, Gibson appears to be taking a dig at his Fast and Furious co-stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham, who won’t be a part of the upcoming film.

Johnson and Statham starred in the Fast & Furious spinoff, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, which Tyrese had criticized.  He even vowed to quit Fast and Furious 9 if Johnson was involved in it

Things seemed to have worked out in his favor, since neither Johnson nor Statham have been announced for   Fast 9.  This week, we learned that Cardi B will appear in the movie, but her role isn’t known.

Black and Blue is now in theaters. Fast & Furious 9 is scheduled to be released on May 22, 2020.

Colin Bentley/The CW(TEXAS) — Supernatural fans were left reeling after one of the show’s leading actors attacked several people on Sunday morning.

Jared Padalecki was arrested for assaulting two people when visiting the Stereotype bar in Austin, Texas — a place he often frequents.  TMZ reports that the 37-year-old is out on $15,000 bail after spending the night in a prison cell.

His booking sheet states he now faces two counts of assault and one for public intoxication.  No word on when he will face those charges in court.

Eyewitnesses told TMZ that Padalecki first struck a bartender in the face early Sunday morning, but it is unknown what caused the violent exchange.  When a friend took him outside, Padalecki attacked and put him in a headlock, which was captured on camera by paparazzi.

The Supernatural actor then struck the general manager in the face after a brief confrontation.

Eyewitnesses also claim that, when police arrived, the actor flashed a wad of cash before being escorted into the backseat of a cruiser.

Padalecki, nor his representatives, have spoken about the incident.

Ben Affleck falls off the wagon, visits ex-wife Jennifer Garner after relapse

No Comments Entertainment News

ABC/Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) — It’s been a year since Ben Affleck committed himself to sobriety.  He celebrated the one year sober milestone Saturday on Instagram— only to start over from square one a few hours later.

The Gone Girl actor appeared publicly inebriated at the UNICEF masquerade ball on Saturday.  Video footage obtained by TMZ showed the actor struggling to stand up and walk straight as he waited for his ride home.

Affleck has publicly struggled with alcohol addiction for years and, last August, entered rehab for a third time.  After completing his forty day stay at the facility, the actor opened up about his struggles on Instagram that October and wrote “Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle.  Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment.”

Sources close to the actor tell People that “Ben owned his mistake” after he was spotted at Jennifer Garner’s home on Sunday.  The 47-year-old told reporters outside his ex-wife’s house that “its a slip, but I’m not going to let it derail me.”

Garner, whom Affleck was married to from 2005 to 2018, has publicly supported the actor through his sobriety troubles — even driving him to rehab in August 2019.  They share three children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.
