Sheryl Crow and Chris Stapleton unveil new collaboration, "Tell Me When It's Over"

Big Machine Label GroupSheryl Crow and Chris Stapleton have teamed up for a new song, “Tell Me When It’s Over.” 

The classic rock-style melody is supported by lyrics that speak from the perspective of someone who knows their relationship is coming to an end, and wants to break down the other person’s walls and reach their heart.

Sheryl takes lead vocals while Chris provides background harmonies; then, they unite to proclaim “Caught up in a dream/But I know it’s coming/See it in your face/You got a good thing going to waste/You keep on running away from love.” 

The song was released alongside a lyric video designed as a a moving photo album, capturing shots of the two artists in the studio along with sepia-tone photos of the desert and wide open highways. 

“Tell Me When It’s Over” is one of many collaborations on Sheryl’s upcoming Threads album, which features her singing with the likes of Stevie NicksMaren MorrisBonnie Raitt, Willie NelsonVince GillEmmylou Harris and more.  There’s also a posthumous duet with the late Johnny Cash, “Redemption Day.”

Threads will be released on August 30.

Get That Man a Beer: Riley Green announces debut album

BMLG RecordsRiley Green has set a title and release date for his debut album. 

The Alabama native will make his debut in the form of the 14-track Different ‘Round Here, based on a track of the same name that will see the light of day on September 20.

Fans will also get to hear “There Was This Girl,” the breakthrough hit that became Riley’s first #1, along with current single “In Love By Now” and reflective songs like “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” and “Numbers on the Cars.” 

“I started putting out music independently to have material to do shows around Alabama and Georgia. Here we are just a year or so later and I’m still that same guy from Alabama, just singing those songs on a bigger stage,” Riley says. “Those and each of these songs are a part of my life and I’m ready to play them out on the road!”

Riley is currently on the road with Brad Paisley for the 2019 World Tour and is set to open for Jon Pardi on his Heartache Medication Tour this fall. He’ll round out the year with his own headlining Get That Man a Beer Tour, which launches September 5 and concludes on December 14.

Brantley Gilbert is going "country wide" with new album "Fire & Brimstone"

The Valory Music Co.Brantley Gilbert has called on a team of all-star collaborators for his new album. 

Brantley announced today that his new project, Fire and Brimstone, will be released this fall and finds the singer calling on a variety of country music heavy hitters including Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss and Jamey Johnson.

The album will feature 15 songs, all written by the singer.  One song seems him teaming up with Willie and his son Lukas Nelson, plus Colt Ford, on a track titled “Welcome to Hazeville,” while Alison and Jamey appear on the title track. 

The collection also includes his duet with Lindsay Ell, “What Happens in a Small Town,” which is currently in the top 15 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, and other previously released tracks “Man That Hung the Moon” and “Not Like Us.”

The latter song serves as the namesake of Brantley’s current tour, which wraps up October 11 in Charlotte, NC. His second annual Kick it in the Ship fan cruise travels from Miami to Cozumel, Mexico November 4-8.  

Fire & Brimstone will be released on October 4.

The Highwomen break "The Chain" with Fleetwood Mac cover

Low Country Sound/Elektra RecordsThe Highwomen contribute their powerhouse voices to a stellar cover of Fleetwood Mac‘s “The Chain” for the soundtrack to the new movie, The Kitchen. 

The Highwomen — Brandi CarlileMaren MorrisAmanda Shires and Natalie Hemby — joined forces for a striking rendition of the song, which appears on Fleetwood Mac’s groundbreaking 1977 album Rumours. 

“#TheChain is out now!! We had such a great time recording this cover of one of our favorite @fleetwoodmac songs,” the group writes on Twitter

The Kitchen stars Tiffany HaddishMelissa McCarthy and Elisabeth Moss as mob wives who, after their husbands’ arrests, take over their criminal operations in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen. It’s in theaters August 9.

Midland turns a relationship on the rocks into "Cheatin' Songs"

Harper SmithMidland continue to share tracks from their upcoming album Let it Roll with the release of “Cheatin’ Songs.” 

Staying with their traditional country sound, the trio of Mark WystrachCameron Duddy and Jess Carson called on frequent songwriting partners Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne to create the song, which is about a man who wonders if his partner is cheating on hm.

“She’s bringin’ back cheatin’ songs/The kind of hurt that gets you singin’ along/Something circa 1973/She’s lying with him and she’s lying to me,” the trio sings with their trademark twangy harmonies. 

“Cheatin’ Songs” follows a handful of other tracks the band has shared from Let it Roll, including lead single “Mr. Lonely,” “Playboys” and “Put the Hurt on Me.” The album arrives in full on August 23.
