Off the top, we head down to the Texas Coast to chase big bull redfish with longtime guide Josh Guenther. What makes Port O Connor, TX such a great redfish fishery? Where do find these monsters and how do you catch them? We discuss with Captain Guenther. Then we spend a couple segments with the wildlife photographer Tom Mangelsen who recently won a lottery for a coveted Wyoming grizzly bear tag. This fall, Wyoming will host the first grizzly hunt in the lower 48 in over 40 years. But Tom won’t use his tag to kill a grizzly, rather he entered the draw in an attempt to thwart the killing of the grizzly. We step inside the mind of an anti-hunter to try and see if anything they think makes sense or supports scientific wildlife management. Should be interesting!

We start off by visiting with shark angler Poco Cedillo who made national headlines last week with the 14 ft hammerhead he caught off the Texas coast. Sadly, the fish didn’t survive the attempted release. 400 lbs of fresh meat was donated to the local food bank in Corpus Christi, TX.

Then we discuss the Lone Star Tick with Texas A&M Professor and tick biologist Dr. Maria Esteve-Gasent. This tick can actually cause humans to develop an allergy to red meat! Bad news.

We wrap up the show by checking in with Dallas Safari Club Executive Director Corey Mason. This discussion centers around the Namibia Minister of Environment and Tourism’s recent mandate that American hunters no longer post trophy photos on social media (if the animals were harvested in Namibia). Corey gives us his thoughts on the issue and whether or not the mandate will be adhered to or shot down all together.
