WABC(NEW YORK) — Fifth grader Alexus London was in gym class doing push-ups when an unexpected Valentine’s Day gift arrived.

Her father, Army Staff Sgt. Daniel London, had just returned from an eight-month deployment in Afghanistan before he surprised his 10-year-old daughter at William Rall Elementary School in Long Island, New York, with a bouquet of flowers.

Awestruck, Alexus ran across the room to hug and kiss her father.

“There’s not words to explain how much I miss him,” Alexus told ABC New York station WABC.

London, returning from his third deployment, told WABC he’d missed his daughter’s fifth and 10th birthdays.

Alleged cop shooter with a 'grudge' indicted by grand jury

No Comments National News

iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — A grand jury in the Bronx has indicted a man accused of trying to murder New York Police Department officers during a 12-hour shooting rampage.

Robert Williams allegedly opened fire inside the 41st Precinct on Feb. 9, after walking up to a marked police vehicle and shooting inside it the day before. Officer Paul Stroffolino was struck in the neck during the Feb. 8 incident, and Lt. Jose Gautreaux was hit in the arm at the precinct.

Both officers have since been released from the hospital.

Williams, 45, was charged on two separate complaints, and on Friday afternoon a grand jury indicted him for the caught-on-camera shooting at the Longwood Avenue precinct.

Prosecutors with the Bronx District Attorney’s Office announced in front of a courtroom filled with dozens of the officers’ colleagues that Williams was indicted on 11 counts of attempted murder of a police officer, 12 counts of attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

A second grand jury for Stroffolino’s case is expected to announce its findings at a later time.

Family and friends of Williams who were also in court on Friday told ABC New York station WABC that he’s suffered from emotional distress since his son died in 2018.

Police sources previously said Williams allegedly said he was holding a grudge against police since a 2018 DWI arrest.

Williams is expected back in court March 6 for his supreme court arraignment and to enter a plea.

If convicted for attempted murder of a police office, he faces 25 years to life in prison for each count.

S.O.S.: Orlando Bloom's Morse code tattoo honoring his son spells his name wrong

No Comments Entertainment News

Paul Archuleta/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) — Lesson be learned, when you’re about to get a tattoo in another language, have an expert check it out before you ink it up.

Orlando Bloom’s heart was in the right place when he got a new tattoo in honor of his nine year old son Flynn.  However, there’s one glaring issue with it — somehow, Flynn’s name is spelled wrong.

Showing off his new tat on Tuesday, the Pirates of the Caribbean star teased in the caption, “new #tattoo can you guess who?”  In a subsequent photo, Bloom poses proudly with his tattoo artist, Balazs Bercsenyi.

The tattoo features a series of numbers and Morse code between two thin black lines.  After fielding some incorrect guesses, the 43-year-old later replied to a fan “It’s Flynn in MORSE CODE and his dob and time.”

Unfortunately, the sweet gesture was quickly overshadowed by the fact that the tattoo spells out “Frynn” instead of “Flynn” in Morse code.

Thankfully, it appears the minor error will soon become a thing of the past.  On Bercsenyi’s personal Instagram, the tattoo artist admitted, “yes, a dot is missing, we know, it will be fixed” along with a smile emoji.

Bloom shares Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, who has since welcomed another son — Myles — with her husband, CEO Evan Spiegel.

As for the actor, he’s about to walk down the aisle with fiancé Katy Perry.
