Sacred Heart Parish Fall Picnic
The Sacred Heart Parish Fall Picnic begins at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 3 at the KC Hall in Hallettsville.
The meal will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Drive through to-go plates will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Country-fried chicken, stew and homemade cornbread dressing with all the trimmings will served. Plates are $10 for adults and $5 for children age 10 and younger.
There will be a short memorial at 1 p.m. given by the Rev. Msgr. John Peters.
The activities include a cake walk, country store, religious articles booth, and bingo, played from noon to 6 p.m.
A washer pitching tournament will be held at 5 p.m.
There will be kiddie games and rides all afternoon. Later in the afternoon, hamburgers, french fries, nachos, popcorn, funnel cakes, snow cones, lemonade and soda water will be served.
The auction begins at 1 p.m. Sacred Heart is raffling a 2017 Polaris Ranger with 12 foot Load Trail Landscape Trailer and 13 additional prizes benefiting Sacred Heart Catholic School. Tickets are $35 each.
There are also church picnic raffle tickets with 25 prizes available from parishioners and at the picnic. The tickets are $1 each.
Music on the main pavilion will be provided by Konvanda Czech Band from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a free dance on the Polka Pavilion/Biergarten with music by The Dujka Brothers and The Red Ravens from 1 to 7 p.m.
10% of all proceeds will go to the Hurricane Victims Fund.
