"Power" star Naturi Naughton says relationships will be 'torn apart' in Season 5 Urban

By Stephen Iervolino

ABC Radio(NEW YORK) — Ahead of the season five premiere of Power, series star Naturi Naughton is telling fans to “get ready.”

Naughton, who portrays Tasha St. Patrick, the estranged wife of wealthy nightclub owner and protagonist James St. Patrick, told ABC News what fans can expect from the show, which is executive produced and co-stars Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

“Expect for relationships to be torn apart. Expect for drama between Tasha and Ghost,” she said. “It’s one of my favorite seasons, but it’s also the most emotional, so get ready.”

Naughton also shed light on the storyline of her onscreen son, Tariq, played by Michael Rainey Jr. Last season, Tariq fell into the drug world, and Naturi says that in Season 5 he’s still “acting a hot mess” — even after the shocking death of his onscreen sister, Raina, played Donshea Hopkins.

Power fans may remember that 50 Cent, who portrays Kanan on the series, told fans they shouldn’t get too comfortable, since he wants to end the series after Season 7.

He told ABC News last July that, “in the very beginning, when [executives] talked about how long do you think the series is going to last, I said seven. It’s going to go seven.”

Naughton said she’d be “sad” if the show ended.

“I love my job and I love my show, but at the same time we’ve had a great run, so I’m blessed,” she added.

Power returns to Starz July 1.

7-week-old baby girl hospitalized after getting struck by ball at softball game

iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — A 7-week-old is fighting for her life after getting accidentally hit in the head by a softball while at a game with her parents.

Lee and Kassy Hovenga took their baby girl, McKenna Hovenga, on one of her first outings for a family day to attend a recreational softball game in Iowa.

The family was behind the fence Wednesday in the stands when the ball struck.

Family member Laura Heise detailed the accident on Facebook.

“Another pair of teams were playing and Lee was helping Kassy get situated with a blanket over her, so Kassy could breastfeed,” Heise wrote. “Lee had his back to the field and never saw the ball coming. The ball came over the fence — and either hit McKenna first or hit Kassy first. We’re really not sure as it happened so fast and Kassy was looking down at McKenna as she was feeding. Neither of them saw the ball as it came over the fence.”

The baby was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, for reported skull fractures, two brain bleeds and multiple seizures. A public Facebook page, Healing for McKenna, has been sharing daily updates on the child’s progress. A team of doctors has been working to stabilize McKenna’s system and stop the seizures.

The parents seem to remain positive and hopeful for continued progress, according to a recent Facebook post from the infant’s father.

“We hear about these accidents on the news every day throughout the Cedar Valley, never thinking of how many people other than myself are praying for the victims of these tragic accidents,” Lee Hovenga wrote in a Facebook post where he shared photos of a happy, smiling McKenna before the accident. “It’s heartwarming knowing there are so many selfless people in this world that hope and pray for others.”

The Facebook page has grown to just under 100,000 people with hundreds of supportive messages to the family. Additionally, a YouCaring account has been set up to help offset medical costs with over $28,000 raised so far.

By Music News Group

Broken Bow RecordsDustin Lynch is taking a bit of a left turn with his latest single. The song, “Good Girl,” isn’t on his latest album, Current Mood, which just came out last September.

The Tullahoma, Tennessee native says “Good Girl” simply couldn’t wait.

“We came across something that I just fell in love with immediately,” he explains, “and we just said, ‘Well, why not just go and record the song?’ And once we did that, I got to thinking, ‘Man, I can’t live with this song not being heard this summer.’”

After that, all that was left to do was get his record company on board.

“I asked, ‘Man, what if we went ahead and put this out for summer ’18?'” he continues. “‘Like, I can’t wait all year long to put this out next year,’ or something. And they were like, ‘Well, hell yeah!'”

“Good Girl” is available to stream or download now, or you can check out its lyric video on YouTube.
